Precious Moments

Every Girl Deserves to feel like a Princess

Westbury and Alexandra areas that battle with crime, gangsterism, substance abuse, poverty, Child headed households and single parent families. Our two staff members in these areas, Wilma from Westbury and Thabea from Alexandra noted that there were many girls in these communities who were missing out on attending their matric dance as their families could not afford to purchase a dress for the occasion. Many of these girls and their families have made sacrifices to keep these girls in school.

Thabea and Wilma started up this project whereby we collect matric dresses for these girls. This project is in its 3rd year. From small beginnings we have managed to collect lovely evening dresses. We are in need of more dresses as the need in these areas is great. Recently Family Life Centre received a donation of boxes of evening shoes donated by AD Spitz. There are many lovely shoes which we will be able to use for our “Precious Moments”.
